The concept for the public art piece is to create a lenticular design, meaning a different image appears when viewed from a different angle. The artwork will be made of weathering steel (copper colored) with stainless steel inserts (silver colored) and will be illuminated. The image below is a model of the artwork.

The horse appears when one travels from the Transit Center on Lake Street to the Midtown Greenway.

Symbolism of the horse:
The horse became an integral part of the lives and culture of many Native Americans as a means of transportation and hunting. Most cultures see the horse as a symbol of mobility, stamina, strength and power.

The birds appear when traveling from the Midtown Greenway towards the Transit Center on Lake Street.

Bird symbolism is popular throughout the world as a symbol of freedom who can walk the earth, fly and swim. In most cultures the bird is a spiritual connection between the human and the spirit world.
